Lumen Bloom

Festival Proposal, Thailand

Lumen Bloom proposes an intervention of modular ‘solar trees’ that connects existing pavilions at a festival. It has three goals: 1. Supply vendors and visitors with clean solar energy. 2. Offer reconfigurable shaded walkways. 3. Disrupt the visitors’ journey with spontaneous encounters.

1. CLEANER ENERGY

Lumen Bloom offers a practical step toward energy independence. Each solar tree module hosts a panel that supports the electrical grid with cleaner energy. It’s a scalable and incremental investment, aligned with the festival organiser’s mission.

2. SHADED WALKWAYS

Many existing pavilions at festivals have become iconic - Lumen Bloom does not aim to compete, but to complement. The solar trees assemble to form shaded walkways that quietly guide and gather visitors between their destinations.

3. CHANCE ENCOUNTERS

At the heart of a festival is people. Lumen Bloom celebrates their connections by channelling visitors through common spaces, and providing opportunities for pause. This invites chance encounters throughout the duration of the festival.
